Masonry is an essential activity in a metal construction company. It involves assembling masonry elements (bricks, stones, blocks, etc.) with mortar to create various structures (walls, partitions, floors, etc.).
The mason’s job involves the following steps:
– Preparing the site: checking plans, dimensions, levels, materials and tools.
– Laying foundations: digging excavations, pouring concrete, installing reinforcement and posts.
– Assemble masonry units: mark out markers, spread mortar, lay units in line, level and aligned.
– Joints: smooth mortar with trowel or float, clean up excess mortar and dirt.
– Finishing: apply plaster, rendering or paint, depending on the type of work and specifications.
